April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and Matt Talbot is ready to celebrate! Volunteers are the heart and soul of Matt Talbot, and for over 30 years and counting, they have faithfully served this organization.
In 2022, an average of 470 unduplicated volunteers served each month and contributed a total of 24,562 hours of service. Groups and individuals help out in a variety of ways, including hunger relief, laundry and shower services, reception, meal card scanning, organizing donations, trash pick-up, and more.
There are also seasonal volunteer opportunities, such as in the spring and summer with the onsite Hope Garden. The Director of Hunger Relief & Volunteerism, Victoria O’Neil, works with interested groups and individuals to find where help is most needed around the organization.
People of all ages are welcome to volunteer, provided an adult is present. To find out more about how you can help at Matt Talbot visit mtko.org and click the “Volunteer” tab at the top of the page. You can also contact Victoria at (402) 817-0623 or victoria.oneil@mtko.org for more information.
Volunteers make a substantial investment in Matt Talbot and services couldn’t be provided without this huge community effort.
