Safety for our volunteers, guests and staff is a number one priority for Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach.  Here are few friendly suggestions to follow while spending time at Matt Talbot (really anywhere!).

1. When leaving at night, walk to your cars in a group.  If you are here alone, you can always ask a staff member to walk you out.

2. If a guest asks you for a ride, we encourage you not to do so. StarTran is  currently offering free bus service throughout the city of Lincoln.

3. Never give money to our guests.  If you would like to donate we suggest you give to an organization that supports our homeless population. If the individual needs something it can be brought to the attention of the staff and we will do our best to help them.

4. Confrontation.  If a guest were to  be verbally abusive to you, please let a staff member know ASAP. Matt Talbot always ensures that either a staff member or Off Duty Police Officer is present during all meals.
