Important Updates from the Kitchen - March
Volunteers are the backbone of Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach. Whether it is purchasing ingredients, preparing food, serving a meal, helping at the reception desk, working in the garden, or hosting a donation drive or special event-- we appreciate your investment of time and resources and want to assist you in any way we can. Here are the latest updates:
Trays vs. To-Go Containers
Meals should be served on reusable trays for in-house dining. Only to-go meals should be served in disposable containers. If your team requires help with dishwashing, please contact Anthony or Victoria to coordinate a dishwasher to assist.
Condiment Storage
Condiments will now be stored in the walk-in cooler on the left front side, next to the milk. Before opening a new bottle, please check to see if there are any open bottles available. Last month, we had a surplus of open mustards, so checking first will help us manage stock more effectively.
Daily Report Relocation
The Daily Report Forms can be found hanging on the front of the reach-in cooler. It is important that all highlighted areas are completely filled out each time your team comes in. This information is submitted to the Food Bank to meet USDA requirements and is also used to fulfill the criteria for our grant from the Community Health Endowment.
Volunteer Information Request
We kindly ask all volunteers to provide their first and last name, along with an email address, so we can record your volunteer hours in our new database. This information is required for all volunteers. If you have not yet updated your information in 2025, please click here to fill out our database update form!
